Good Reasons

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. A decade after my accident, I began to see how all things were working together for my good and God’s glory. For me, it was great to see that suffering was doing a job on my character. I was able to stick to my promises, I quit whining, and I was patient with others. And, I couldn’t (literally) reach for common temptations like before. I was being transformed from glory to glory, as it says in Second Corinthians 3.

Oh friend, when it comes to God allowing your pain, he’s got very good reasons… God is more concerned with developing inward qualities than healing outward circumstances. So if are in a painful situation, examine your heart. Are you submitting to God’s plan for your life? If so, then you’re on your way to spiritual maturity. Just keep trusting that God holds the many reasons for your suffering in his kind and capable hands.

Pressing On: How to Lean on Christ through Suffering

After more than 55 years living with quadriplegia and chronic pain, Joni Eareckson Tada knows what it means to “press on” through suffering. Joni encourages you to join her in living out Philippians 3:14: “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
