Leanna and Jose in CubaLate one evening, Leanna bundled up her four-year-old disabled son, Jose, for an eight-hour car ride to a Wheels for the World distribution in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba. They arrived exhausted but expectant. This was going to be a day they would never forget, a day that would change their lives! A Wheels physical therapist took Jose and seated him in a brand new pediatric wheelchair—a gift made possible by your prayers and generosity. Leanna watched the look of joy on Jose’s face and with tears of gratitude told us, “You’ve given my son something I could never afford to give him…a wheelchair.” Because of you, the words of Psalm 126:3 come alive in the hearts of children all over the world: “The Lord has done great things for us and we are filled with joy!” But it was the Gospel message presented to them that brought the greatest freedom of all. On behalf of Jose and many more children living with disability who’ve heard the Good News, thank you!
