It’s National Volunteer Week! We’re dedicating this week to recognizing the faithful volunteers who partner with us each day to serve people affected by disability through prayer and hands-on ministry. Because of their support and participation, we’re able to share the message of Christ, equip churches for disability ministry, and give the gift of mobility to those in need! Be sure to check our blog each day all week long as we’ll be highlighting a few of our wonderful volunteers all over the country!

The first volunteer we’re highlighting is Joy Eusebio, one of our dedicated volunteers in Connecticut. Few volunteers serve with as much persistence and positivity as Joy. She has served as a Chair Corps volunteer since the 1990’s when Wheels for the World first began. She was encouraged to begin collecting wheelchairs by a friend of hers, and she hasn't looked back since!

Over the last two decades, Joy has built what can only be described as a Chair Corps legacy. She has fostered relationships with hospitals, nursing homes, medical loan closets, wheelchair retailers, churches, radio stations, corporations with warehouse space, and other non-profits in Connecticut. Through these connections, she has been able to collect thousands of wheelchairs. God has truly equipped her and given her favor as she has responded with hard work and enthusiasm.

One of her greatest pleasures was to travel to Romania with Wheels for the World. On this trip, she was finally able to see, first-hand, that her efforts in Connecticut were making a worldwide impact for the kingdom of God. And after so many years of service, Joy remains confident that collecting wheelchairs is a calling from God in her life.

If you’d like to send Joy a note of appreciation, be sure to leave a comment below. Thank you, Joy; we are so thankful for your faithful service at Joni and Friends!
