Cause 4 Life East Coast Academy InternsThe Joni and Friends East Coast Academy team is wrapping up their internship by serving in the Dominican Republic at a special needs orphanage and with special needs children at a local school. The last five weeks have brought these eight young leaders together as a beautiful example of Christ’s vision for the church. With many skill sets and abilities, these young women have worked together as one body, supporting each other and encouraging each other’s gifts. Not one girl stands apart from the rest. Madison’s bubbly spirit, Theresa’s high energy, Kirsten’s motherly affection, Nancy’s strong determination, Aleya’s vibrant vigor, Kesenya’s calm discernment, Saurym’s quiet sensitivity, and Julia’s tender leadership make for a team ready to serve in whatever capacity God calls them. Their love and support for each other will prove even more valuable as they serve this week in the Dominican Republic. God’s plan for them will no doubt open their eyes to difficult realities, but also to the beautiful promises of His Word. Be praying for them as they finish their internship with their most difficult task. May the Lord use their open and teachable hearts as tools for His workmanship as they return home, ready to impact their communities for disability ministry.
