Hints of Heaven

Will heaven's ecstasy go on forever? Is it true we will never become bored? Will it really be as glorious as the Bible insists? God sprinkles hints of heaven on earth to give us an inkling -- just a small glimpse -- of how pleasurable heaven will be. I catch hints of heaven in magnificent sunsets that...

When God created the world, He spoke it into being. When Jesus walked the earth, He spoke and the lame were healed. When Peter preached his first sermon, he spoke and thousands were gathered into the kingdom. Powerful things happen when we speak. Our words can either accomplish great good...

Happy Mother's Day!

God blessed me with the tremendous gift of growing up in a close-knit, loving family. I am so grateful to have been given such wonderful parents. As we spend this week honoring the mothers in our lives, I am thrilled to share with you about my own mom – someone incredibly special! For my mom, raising a daughter with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) must have been incredibly challenging. It was certainly not the life she had expected before she found out I was born with SMA, a progressive neuromuscular disorder.

As an infant, my mom had to watch me go through grueling tests, until, at the age of 18 months, I was diagnosed with SMA. By the time I was in kindergarten, I couldn’t walk well enough to keep up with my peers and my parents, along with my doctors, decided it was time for my first power wheelchair. I often reflect on what those first few years must have been like for my mom… all the uncertainty and newness to contend with. But...

Rejoice Always!

Living the Christian life is so opposite, so against the grain of our human nature. When today’s verse tells me to rejoice always, my inclination is to be glum-faced, thank you. A little bit of whining, huffing and puffing, scowling and sighing is more to my liking. But common sense warns me it will only...

Thank you for allowing God to use you to pour out His love to families affected by disability. One such family is the Wallrauchs. Go Make Disciples

“Healthy leadership does not happen to people affected by disability, nor does it only happen for them. It should happen with them.” – Go Make Disciples

The newest book in our Irresistible Church series, “Go Make Disciples,” walks the reader through the steps to a healthy mentoring relationship with those affected by disability.

Irresistible leadership isn’t just about leading individuals affected by disability. Rather, it is about creating space for everyone who is called into leadership to come, grow, and express their gifts and talents. Healthy leadership does not happen to people affected by disability nor does it only happen for them. It should happen with them. In this book, you will learn the four steps to a healthy mentoring relationship and be used by God to release people into the spheres of...
